Everyone is welcome at the Shire of Harvey libraries, located at Australind, Harvey, Binningup and Yarloop.

Come in any time to read a newspaper, magazine, study or borrow a book or two. Note, you will need to be a member to borrow items. It’s free to join.

You can also use our public computers and free wifi service. Photocopiers, scanners and a laminator are available for a small fee.

We have a range of programs and events for children and the general community.

Frequently asked questions

How do I become a member?

Go to Library membership to find out how to join the library in person or online. Membership is free.

How many items can I borrow?

You can borrow up to 30 items per card. There are terms and conditions of borrowing. Staff will let you know what they are when you join up.

How long can I borrow it for?

You have 3 weeks to enjoy your items. A reminder that your items are about to be due is sent out 3 days before the due back date. Another 2 more reminders will be sent out if the items are 7 and 14 days overdue.

Please return the items on time to avoid being billed. You can also contact your local library to renew if this is something you would like us to do. You can only renew once unless another library member has placed a hold on the item you have.

What happens if I lose my card?

Lost or damaged cards can be replaced at a cost of $2.

How can I access my online account?

Access your online account.  View your personal details, checkouts and other features while you’re at it. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Do you have public computers I can use?

Yes we do.  You can book a computer by calling us or in person. Its free to use computers but there is a cost if you print.

Can I print, scan and copy?

Yes you can. We have a photocopier, printer and scanner available for use. There is a small fee to use these services. Further information about Library Services, Equipment and Facilities.

What other resources can I access with my membership?

Use your library membership to access free eResources such as ebooks, eaudiobooks, digital magazines and more. You will need your library card number and PIN to access eResources. To find our more see our eLibrary page.

How can I renew my items?

Contact us and we can do it for you or login to the Library Catalogue to renew it yourself.  You can only renew your items once. If someone else puts a hold on what you have out, you can not renew your items online and you will need to return those items by the due date.

Do I need to pay for a damaged and/or lost item?

Yes you do. Although items are free to borrow, you are liable for any cost associated with lost and/or damaged items that you have borrowed. Please contact your library if this is you and we will give you more details.

Can I volunteer at the library?

Yes you can.  We love it that many of community members want to volunteer but unfortunately we can only accept a certain number of volunteers. Currently all our volunteer positions are filled. Please contact your local library to see if and when a volunteer position becomes available.

Do you accept donations?

Yes we do but your donations must meet certain criteria first. Please contact your library to find out what the criteria is first before bringing donations to the library.

I don’t know how to use my device. Can you help?

Yes we can. We offer free technology support at Australind and Harvey libraries. Visit or contact us to book a time.
