About freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act 1992 gives individuals, corporations and businesses the right to apply for access to documents held by Public Sector agencies, including Local Government Authorities.

How to apply

A Freedom of Information application must be submitted in writing on the application form below.

Forms can be submitted to the Shire via shire@harvey.wa.gov.au or hand delivered to the Harvey Administration Centres at 102 Uduc Road, Harvey or 7 Mulgara Street, Australind.

Timeframes

In line with the Freedom of Information Act 1992, the Shire of Harvey must complete all applications within 45 days from receipt of a valid application.

This time frame may be extended under an agreement between the Shire and the Applicant.

There is a 25% reduction of charges on the grounds of financial hardship, not applicable to the application fee.If the charge will be greater than $25, the applicant will be notified before further processing commences.
