Permanent Road Closure - Clifton Road, Australind

Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) Project

Section 3.50 Local Government Act 1995

The Shire of Harvey hereby gives notice to the public that traffic conditions around Clifton Road will be altered due to the permanent closure of portions of Clifton Road. This closure and associated road network detours will be in effect from October 2024 to allow for upgrades to local roads, and roads connecting to the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) network.

From October 2024, portions of Clifton Road will be permanently closed east of Forrest Highway. Clifton Road will be realigned to connect with Paris Road at a new intersection. The existing junction at Forrest Highway will be removed.

During this stage of construction, Paris Road will reopen. Access to Forrest Highway in both directions from Clifton Road will be via the new interchange. Access from Forrest Highway northbound to Clifton Road will be via the new interchange.  Access from Forrest Highway southbound to Clifton Road will be via a detour at Grand Entrance until full opening in December 2024. These traffic changes and the associated detour are shown on the maps below.

Access to Forrest Highway (both directions) from Clifton Road

Access from Forrest Highway northbound to Clifton Road

Access from Forrest Highway southbound to Clifton Road

From Forrest Highway southbound to Clifton Road will be via Grand Entrance, The Promenade and Paris Road until December 2024.

The South West Gateway Alliance (SWGA) is undertaking the construction of the BORR project on behalf of Main Roads.

For any queries regarding the proposal, please contact the South West Gateway Alliance at 1800 979 770 or via email at enquiries@swgateway.com.au.

The Shire welcomes community feedback regarding the proposed planned closure that it will pass onto SWGA. Submissions will be accepted until 25 October 2024.

Please forward your submissions to the Shire of Harvey by emailing shire@harvey.wa.gov.au.
