The Leschenault Men's Shed is continuing its woodworking magic after we recently made a large wood donation.

We made this donation following a tree safety investigation after a localised storm event last year.

Council endorsed the urgent Arborist recommendation to remove trees that had been deemed unsafe on Holbrook Road in Kingston.

After that, we reached out to nearby Leschenault Men's Shed to see if the wood could be repurposed for the community.

The donated wood has now been milled and will largely be used for future woodcraft projects. A significant portion of the wood has also been set aside to dry out over the next 12 months.

It will be suitable as firewood just in time for next winter.

We work closely with local Men's Sheds to repurpose wood wherever possible, support community initiatives and enhance spaces for people to socialise and learn new skills.

More recent support has included the expansion of the Leschenault Men's Shed, helping Harvey Men's Shed find a home on Young Street in Harvey and supporting the 2024 Brunswick Junction Men's Shed Community Open Day
