Former Shire of Harvey Councillor Paul Beech has been awarded one of Australia's highest honours.
Mr Beech, who previously earned an Ambulance Service Medal, has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia.
Mr Beech received one of 737 awards in the King’s Birthday 2023 Honours List and is one of 65 Western Australians recognised.
Mr Beech's service to the Harvey Region has been exceptional.
He worked for the Shire of Harvey for 24 years, before being elected to Council in 2011 and retiring in 2023.
His government service coincided with volunteering at the St John Ambulance Harvey Sub Centre, of which he is a Life Member.
He's served on dozens of committees, including Harvey Mainstreet, the Australia Day Breakfast Committee, and the Brunswick Junction Town Centre Redevelopment Advisory Committee.
He is also known for his leadership roles across the Rotary Club of Harvey, Probus Club of Harvey, and Apex Club of Harvey.
The Shire of Harvey congratulates Mr Paul Beech OAM on his latest honour and thanks him for the decades of support, love and dedication he has shown to the Harvey Region.
