Harvey and Brunswick Junction have been officially labelled RV Friendly Towns!

The Harvey Region is poised to capture a bigger slice of the RV tourism market after being declared RV Friendly by Australia’s largest recreational vehicle club.

The Region caught the attention of the popular Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) in mid 2023, after the Shire of Harvey launched a 12-month short-stay parking bay trial.

The successful trial concluded earier this year and the Shire permanently welcomed RV travellers to strategic sites along the hinterland.

Shire President Michelle Campbell said Harvey and Brunswick Junction were officially labelled RV Friendly Towns by the CMCA in November, which would put thousands of eyeballs on the Region.

“The CMCA boasts more than 70,000 members and is a trusted national source for RV travel information,” the Shire President said.

“We are now listed on their RV Friendly Map, they celebrate us on their website, and we’ll be covered in their monthly magazine.

“The RV community is known to spend an average of $100 per day when travelling, so we are positioned to take full advantage of this free advertising and get visitors buying local.

“So let your friends in other towns know our doors are wide open and they can visit harveyregion.com.au for more information.”

The CMCA has provided the Shire of Harvey with RV Friendly Town signage to promote the short-stay sites to travellers. These sites are located at the Harvey Recreation Ground and the Brunswick Recreation Ground.

RV travellers can also enjoy a short-stay at the Yarloop Recreation Ground, but that site does not include a dump point.

Harvey and Brunswick Junction’s new RV Friendly Town status is the latest in a pipeline of Shire initiatives designed to transform the Region into a must live, must invest and must visit destination.
