The Shire’s Building Officers are currently conducting their round of required inspections for pools and spas until December 2024.
The Shire is required under the Building Regulations 2012 (WA) to inspect private swimming pool barriers once every four years, to ensure safety is maintained to the adopted Australian Standard.
All private swimming pools and spas that contain water more than 300mm deep must have a compliant barrier or fence installed to restrict young children from accessing the area.
A Shire officer will check that your fences, gates and latches are all working properly and there are no climbable objects around the pool fence that children can climb onto and get into the pool or spa.
