The Shire of Harvey's new skatepark officially opened on the weekend.
The Shire of Harvey celebrated the grand opening of the highly anticipated Harvey Skatepark on Sunday, 7 April.
The free community event marked the newly finished infrastructure project with several activities for families, including a Harvey Hawks soccer competition with prizes, a free Harvey Swimming Club BBQ and a skate workshop with South West icon Soggybones.
The Harvey Skatepark Project was funded through the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister The Hon Patrick Gorman MP and Member for Forrest The Hon Nola Marino MP both attended the Grand Opening to help the community celebrate. The new skatepark has been installed on the southeast corner of Meriden Park, which borders the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool and is home to a number of other recreational programs and sporting activities.
