Forestry Road Bridge has reopened after emergency repair works by Main Roads and Water Corporation.
Forestry Road, near Uduc, has reopened after the early completion of emergency works by Main Roads and Water Corporation.
The bridge was closed temporarily on Friday 10 November as a safety precaution, after a routine inspection by Main Roads found two piles under the bridge needed to be replaced.
“Forestry Road provides important access to the town of Harvey from Forrest Highway, and we understand the importance of the route to local residents and businesses,” said Water Corporation South West Regional Manager Nicky Waite.
Starting on Friday, 1 December, the bridge will be restricted to a single lane under traffic light control until the end of this month to enable more substructure repairs to be undertaken. The single-lane closure will alternate between the eastbound and westbound lanes until the works have been completed.
Speed restrictions for vehicles on the bridge will remain in place while work continues under the bridge for the next three to four weeks.
