Visitors travelling along South Western Highway will notice some new artwork directing people into the Harvey town centre.

Visitors travelling along South Western Highway will notice some new artwork directing people into the Harvey town centre.

The billboards, originally installed by the Harvey Main Street Committee over ten years ago, have been given a refreshing facelift by the Destination Harvey Region team.

In 2022, the Harvey Main Street Committee handed over the infrastructure to the Shire of Harvey to be used as Tourism advertisements.

New ‘We Are Harvey Region’ branding and eye-catching local imagery will entice traffic off the South Western Highway and into Harvey’s town centre to support local businesses and invigorate the community.

Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett said the upgrade of the billboards marked the start of the implementation of the Harvey Region’s new Signage and Infrastructure Style Guide.

“It’s great to see the new billboards up as we roll out the Signage and Infrastructure Style Guide,” Cr Gillett said. “We look forward to welcoming more visitors to not only the town of Harvey but to the Harvey Region as a whole”.

Harvey Main Street Committee Chair and Shire of Harvey Councillor Joe Capogreco said the new billboards were a collaboration between the Harvey Main Street Committee and the Shire of Harvey.

He said they looked fantastic and would hopefully encourage holidaymakers travelling along South West Highway to stop and stay in the region.

“There’s so many wonderful things to see and do in our pocket of the world,” Cr Capogreco said. “We hope these fresh billboards convince travellers to come and experience Harvey.”
