The Shire of Harvey is excited to announce the successful application for funding through the Club Night Lights Program, which will provide $449,907 towards the lighting upgrade at Brunswick Recreation Oval.
The Club Night Lights Program, an initiative created by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, provides financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure.
The approved grant will assist in upgrades to the floodlighting at the Brunswick Oval, home of the Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club and Brunswick Agricultural Society.
These welcomed upgrades will improve the facility offerings and improve vision during team training and events in the evenings.
Harvey Brunswick Leschenault Football Club and Brunswick Agricultural Society, along with other user groups will be contributing $170,000 to the project.
Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett said it was fantastic to hear the Shire was successful in its application for the funding.
“The Brunswick Oval lighting has been an important topic of conversation over the past few months within the local community.”
“It is great to know that we can now move forward with upgrades to the lighting at Brunswick Recreation Ground.” Councillor Gillett said.
