The Shire is honoured to receive gifts from the City of Moka.

On 21 June 2022, the Shire signed a Friendship City Agreement with the City of Moka in Japan to establish goodwill and friendly relations between both regions and countries.

The Shire of Harvey is honoured to receive gifts from the City of Moka that were presented to the Shire during an online ceremony in June last year.

The presents include a framed cotton tapestry of the Shire of Harvey logo and a clay bowl made by Daisuke Iguchi, one of the leading artists in the ceramic art world.

The Shire presented local gifts to the City of Moka, including a Featured Wood handcrafted bowl incorporating Jarrah, Karri and Marri timber; a framed image of the Harvey Region hinterland by local photographer Haydn Jones, and Shire of Harvey t-shirts incorporating artwork from local Noongar artist Ninette Comito.
