Permits to burn are required for the restricted burning period and must be obtained from the Bush Fire Control Officer.

The Shire's Administration Centres will be closed for the Australia Day public holiday.

Please be advised that the Shire’s Administration Centres in Australind and Harvey, Shire of Harvey Libraries and the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre will be closed on Australia Day, 26 January 2023.

Leschenault Leisure Centre’s courts and gym will be open from 8am to 12noon.

Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool will be operating from 12noon to 6pm.

There will be no disruption to waste collection on Australia Day. 

Australia Day Celebrations

Community members are invited to come together to celebrate Australia Day and welcome our new Citizens at the Australia Day Citizen Awards presentations on Thursday, 26 January 2023.

A delicious breakfast cooked by our amazing volunteers will happen in Australind, Harvey, Binningup and Brunswick.

The annual Community Citizen of the Year Awards presentation and Citizenship Ceremony will be held in Harvey and Australind, assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

There will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family.
