The Shire of Harvey officially welcomed The Promenade Extension to the local road network today on Friday, 3 February 2023. A small ceremony was held to mark the long-awaited project, which fills a previously missing link between Paris Road and Ditchingham Place in Australind. Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier the Hon. Jodie Hanns MLA, Member for Murray-Wellington the Hon. Robyn Clarke MLA and Shire of Harvey President Cr Paul Gillett each attended the ceremony with other important stakeholders and community members. The Promenade Extension is a 750 metre northbound and southbound carriageway bordered by a shared pathway with lighting, reticulated landscaping and control of access to adjacent bushland. The vital infrastructure link provides companies in the Treendale Light Industrial Area safe and efficient access to Bunbury Outer Ring Road and Forrest Highway, while relieving traffic congestion in the area. The $2.15 million project opened before the Saturday, 4 February 2023 closure of Paris Road, providing an alternative north south route between Kingston and Treendale. Paris Road will be closed between Forrest Highway and the entrance to Spud Shed from Saturday, 4 February until June of next year. This closure is required to enable the construction of the Paris Road and Clifton Road interchange. For concerns or queries, please contact 138 138 or email enquiries@mainroads.wa.gov.au
