The Shire of Harvey is seeking community input on the updated Ridley Place Foreshore Master Plan.

The Shire of Harvey is seeking community input on the updated Ridley Place Foreshore Master Plan.

The Plan is a detailed guide on future Ridley Place Foreshore upgrades and redevelopment that will serve the Harvey Region’s burgeoning population.

It features a variety of development opportunities, including new public toilets, additional parking, a restaurant and an unlicensed café.

The Plan is a living document that was first endorsed by Shire of Harvey Council in 2014 and has since been regularly reviewed and adjusted according to public input.

Shire of Harvey President Cr Paul Gillett said the community would have another opportunity to provide feedback on the updated Plan throughout August.

“The Ridley Place Foreshore Master Plan is a dynamic blueprint on activating space at one of our flagship natural tourist destinations – the Leschenault Estuary,” Cr Gillett said.

“It will support the Harvey Region’s growing population and provide the community and visitors with an increasingly comfortable, safe and fun place for leisure, recreational activities and community events.

“So far, Stage 1, 2 and 3 of the original Master Plan have been implemented and the Shire is now consulting with the community to ensure our updated roadmap is relevant before proceeding with Stage 4.

“You can visit the Shire’s online Have Your Say platform to review completed work, the updated Plan and to submit your feedback.”

The Ridley Place Foreshore Master Plan public comment period was endorsed by Shire of Harvey Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting in July.

The community is encouraged to review the updated Plan and submit feedback before 4pm on Thursday, 17 August 2023.
