Permits to burn are required for the restricted burning period and must be obtained from the Bush Fire Control Officer.

The Shire will be hosting two information sessions for prospective candidates in August.

If you would like to make a difference in your community and have a say in local decision-making, stand for election as a Local Government Elected Member.

The Shire will be hosting two information sessions for prospective candidates for the Shire of Harvey Ordinary Council Election:

  • Monday, 28 August from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Australind Council Chambers.
  • Tuesday, 29 August from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Harvey Council Chambers.

There are five vacant Councillor seats (four for a 4-year term and one for a 2-year term) and one directly elected Shire President vacancy up for election this year.

Nominations open Thursday, 31 August 2023 and close Thursday, 7 September 2023.
