Upcoming Road and Maintenance Works

Upcoming Road and Maintenance Works
19 May 2022

Upcoming road and maintenance works in the Shire.

There will be road and maintenance works at various locations in the Shire in the upcoming week. While some works will cause little or no disruption to the community and traffic, others may result in temporary changes to the traffic conditions, eg detours or reduced speed.

See below planned works and how they may affect your travel:

  • South Western Highway. Fulton Hogan will begin bridge replacement works over the Harvey Water Irrigation Channels, north of Harvey. The speed limit on the South Western Highway between Harvey and Cookernup will be reduced to 40km/h. Works will start on Monday, 23 May and are anticipated to be completed by 15 July 2022.
  • Kingston Drive, Australind. Kingston Drive will be closed between Leisure Drive and Paris Road for one night from 6pm on Thursday, 26 May for street light globe replacement.
  • Fishing Platform Assessment, Collie River Bridge. Divers will be undertaking an under water assessment of the timber pile structures of the bridge. The walkway will remain open.
  • Old Coast Road, Australind. Road pavement and resealing works on Old Coast Road have been postponed until next week, Thursday, 26 and Friday, 27 May 2022. Traffic controllers will be on-site to direct traffic through the work zones.

The commencement and duration of works may be affected by weather conditions or other circumstances.

Please follow road signs and plan travel accordingly. We thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
