Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination at our Recreation Centres

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination at our Recreation Centres
31 Jan 2022

From Monday, 31 January 2022, the WA Government is further expanding the proof of vaccination requirements.

From Monday, 31 January 2022, the WA Government is further expanding the proof of vaccination requirements.

On Saturday, 29 January 2022, the WA Government updated its formal proof of vaccination requirements for swimming pools and community sport.

Consequently, the Shire of Harvey is changing its entry requirements to the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre (HRCC) and the Leschenault Leisure Centre (LLC) which are now different to what we communicated to our community on Friday, 28 January 2022.

These Directions were updated on Saturday and can be viewed on the WA Government website.

Summary of reviewed directions impacting the Shire’s recreation centres:

  • As of 31 January 2022 only those patrons over the age of 16 accessing the gymnasium and dry group fitness classes will be required to show proof of vaccination upon entry.
  • It is understood that community indoor sport and activities within indoor venues are exempt from the proof of vaccination mandate. These directions were updated on Saturday, 29 January and therefore replace any previous mandates within these areas.

Customers to HRCC and LLC will need to show proof of vaccination upon entry to the following;

  • Gymnasium and group fitness studios.
  • Cultural events at HRCC.
  • Member entry will be deactivated on member fobs and reactivated once members have displayed their proof of vaccination to HRCC or LLC staff. This will mean you will only have to show your proof of vaccination once, or until government directions change requiring further proof.

You can provide proof of vaccination by using the ServiceWA app or Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

If you don't have this, you can also show a printed or digital copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate, Immunisation History Statement or medical exemption together with acceptable photo ID.

We thank everyone for their understanding and patience whilst we implement these changes and remind you that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure these mandates are adhered to. We ask everyone to continue to treat our staff and each other respectfully at all times.

We are following all directions from the Department of Health and WA State Government and should these directions change, we will notify you as soon as possible.
