The program sees almost $740,000 divided between ten venues and organisations across the State to help boost performing arts in regional communities.
As part of the Regional Arts and Cultural Investment Program (RACIP), the ‘In the House’ funding program contributes to an innovative and robust economy by supporting performing arts and entertainment centres across regional WA.
Other venues and organisations to receive funding include Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, Margaret River HEART and Albany Entertainment Centre.
Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett said that it was fantastic to see the WA Government providing financial support to regional entertainment venues, as well as the performing arts community.
“It is great to hear that the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre has been awarded funding as part of this program, which will allow the Centre to continue to offer a diverse range of shows, events and activities.”
“The funding will support not only the local entertainment and performing arts community, but will encourage more connectedness within the Shire of Harvey,” Cr Gillett said.
The ‘In the House’ program will also support the expansion of annual performing arts programs offered by regional entertainment venues, with a minimum of 15 performances to be delivered at the HRCC.
