There will be some personnel changes at the Richardson Road Waste Facility as site managers Frank and Adrienne Bellairs are retiring.
Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett said Frank and Adrienne Bellairs are retiring after managing the Richardson Road Waste Facility for the past 25 years.
“On behalf of the Shire, I would like to extend our appreciation and congratulations to Frank and Adrienne on their retirement,” Cr Gillett said.
Frank started working for the Shire in 1992 as a contractor grading roads. In the mid 90’s Frank was asked to help the Shire to ‘push up’ waste at the six unmanaged tip sites. The management of Richardson Road Waste Facility was tendered in 1996 with Frank and Adrienne being successful. The facility was eventually fenced and gated in 1998 with the five other refuse sites closed throughout the Shire.
Cr Gillett said Frank and Adrienne have become well known identities in the community with many referring to an outing to go visit ‘Frank’ or ‘Mitre 11’.
“Frank and Adrienne have been an integral part of the community."
“They have contributed to creating a major change in waste management within the Shire, resulting in increased recovery rates and the diversion of tens of thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill.”
The Richardson Road Facility will now have new personnel onsite and will continue to operate as normal.
If visiting, please remember to bring your tip passes.
