This week, a team of 40 determined cyclists journeyed through WA's South West region as part of the annual Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia (RMHC WA) Ride for Sick Kids.
The cyclists passed through Harvey on Wednesday, 13 October. The Shire, in partnership with Harvey Beef and Harvey Fresh, greeted the cyclists with a free community event at Harvey Dam.
Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett acknowledged the riders who participated in the event to raise funds to give families time with their sick children to help with the healing process.
“Many of us here in the South West know a family who has stayed at Ronald McDonald House and been helped by this charity,” Cr Gillett said.
“On behalf of the Shire, I would like to commend the Ride for Sick Kids WA for raising funds and awareness of everything that Ronald McDonald House does for families in need.”
Ride For Sick Kids WA is one of the major annual events to raise funds needed to support families from every corner of the state, far from their homes, jobs, schools and loved ones by offering a range of programs to help families stay together and close to the care they need.
