The Council adopted the $75 million Shire of Harvey budget on Tuesday, 27 July 2021. A key focus for the budget is to continue to build an even better lifestyle to meet the needs of our growing population and the many communities in our Shire.

In 2021-2022 some of the areas the Shire is investing into the community includes:

  • $9.7M to provide, expand and improve our community facilities.
  • $4.1M to manage parks, reserves and recreation grounds.
  • $0.4M to upgrade playgrounds.
  • $0.6M in community grants.
  • $0.9M dedicated to community safety including $0.6M fire prevention and control.
  • $17.4M to maintain and expand road, drainage and footpath infrastructure.
  • $4.3M to manage our waste and recycling.
  • $6.7M to manage our recreational centres.

The reconstruction of the Yarloop Workshops and Men’s Shed are highlights of the budget.

Planning will continue in 2021- 2022 for both the Australind and Harvey Community Precincts, and the Leschenault Leisure Centre courts expansion.
