Australia Day 2021 was celebrated at the Shire of Harvey with a citizenship ceremony and annual awards were presented to well-deserving community members.

The Shire of Harvey celebrated Australia Day 2021 at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre with a celebration breakfast and ceremony.

Lesley Ugle conducted a moving Welcome to Country "Country to us is about our journeys, our relationships and our intimate connectedness to places, people and culture. It is about a call and response of acknowledgment."

The Shire welcomed 38 new Australian Citizens and well-deserving community members were recognised for their efforts through the Annual Australia Day awards ceremony.

Congratulations to the following community members and community groups who received an Australia Day Award:

  • Brian Kealley – Harvey Citizen of the Year
  • Barry Rowe – Brunswick Citizen of the Year
  • Gerrard Tyrrell – Australind Citizen of the Year
