We invite you to submit your application for the fulltime position of Library Officer. This position will be based between the Harvey, Yarloop and Australind Libraries. Library opening days are Monday to Saturday.

This position is responsible for providing an efficient and high quality library service in a courteous, efficient and effective manner to all customers/patrons of the Shire of Harvey libraries.

Benefits and conditions

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Award 2021 with a salary payable between Level 2 ($65,604) and Level 3 ($77,071) inclusive of 10% library loading per annum depending on qualifications and experience and benefits such as:

  • Superannuation of 11.5 per cent occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided that employee contributes an amount of at least 5 per cent or 6 per cent of their own salary.
  • Fulltime position, located at the Harvey, Yarloop and Australind Libraries.
  • Four weeks paid annual leave, including a 17.5 per cent leave loading.
  • One rostered day off is available after every 19 working days.
  • A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position.
  • Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.    
  • A medical examination and current police clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
