An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to join the team as a Fitness Officer at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre.

We invite you to submit your application for the part-time position of Fitness Officer. This position is responsible for providing group fitness and gym-based programs and classes to support individuals to implement their fitness programs. This role will also undertake a range of duties to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre, within a team environment.

Benefits and Conditions

Conditions of employment are prescribed by the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Award 2021 with a salary payable for this position of Level 3 ($64,390 to $67,370) per annum pro-rata, depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Superannuation of 11.5 per cent occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided that employee contributes an amount of at least 5 per cent or 6 per cent of their own salary.
  • Part-time position, 28 hours per fortnight located at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre.
  • Four weeks’ pro-rata paid annual leave, including a 17.5 per cent leave loading.
  • A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position.
  • Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.    
  • A medical examination and current police clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
