Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Destination Marketing Officer within the Shire’s Destination Harvey Region business unit.

The role will continue to re-energise the Harvey Region brand with a focus on agri-tourism, nature and adventure, heritage, arts and culture, events, investment and liveability, and build recognition through market-leading campaigns and communication activities.

Benefits

Conditions of employment are prescribed by the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Award 2021 with a salary payable of Level 7 $90,112 to Level 8 $101,450 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Our offices are based in Harvey and Australind, with flexible working options available.

  • Superannuation of 11.5 per cent occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided that employee contributes an amount of at least 5 per cent and/or 6 per cent of their own salary.
  • A mobile phone for business use in accordance with Shire Policy.
  • Professional memberships up to the value of $200.
  • A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position.
  • Full-time position, located at the Australind Administration Building with flexible working options available. You may be required to work at other locations throughout the Shire as directed by your reporting officer.
  • Four weeks paid annual leave, including a 17.5 per cent leave loading.
  • One rostered day off is available after every 19 working days.  Rostered days off cannot be accumulated.
  • Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.    

A medical examination and a current policy clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
