Applications are now open for the 2025 Shire of Harvey Youth Collective.

The Youth Collective is a group of young people aged 13 to 18 that help the Shire plan and deliver youth-focused events and activities over a 12-month period.

The group meets regularly to discuss relevant issues and advises the Shire on matters that impact young people.

Joining the Youth Collective means you can help make a difference in your community and town.

In 2024, the Youth Collective helped deliver major events including school holiday programs and the highly successful Sunset Festival.

What's in it for you?

  • Expand your communication and event management skills;
  • Gain leadership, team building and negotiation skills;
  • Make lasting friendships in a fun and inclusive environment;
  • Build on your Resume and appeal to future employers;
  • Have your ideas heard and considered by local government representatives  and community stakeholders;
  • Collaboration with other Youth Collectives in the South West

Its kicks off in May 2025 and we ask for an annual commitment to April 2026.

Meetings will be held about every 4 weeks at Lot 208 Youth Inc (behind the Australind Library) or you can join in online.   Meetings are usually on a Tuesday afternoon from 4pm to 5pm, but this is up for negotiation once the group forms each year.

The Shire of Harvey Youth Collective is part of a wider commitment to better support local youth. Read about this commitment in the Voices of Youth 2021-2026
