Development Assessment Panels (DAPs) are an alternative stream of assessment provided for under the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulations 2011.
DAPs are intended to enhance the planning expertise in decision making for applications of a complex nature.
The Shire falls within the boundaries of the Regional JDAP (RJDAP) which is a joint development assessment panel that covers the non-metropolitan local government areas of Western Australia.
For development applications, a Responsible Authority Report will be submitted to the DAP from the Shire, with its assessment and recommendation to the Panel.
A meeting of the RJDAP will be held to determine the application, with the decision being appealable in the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT).
Eligibility criteria, DAP information and application forms can be found on the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage website.
