Construction will start on the highly anticipated Harvey Skatepark project on Monday, 2 October.

Construction will start on the highly anticipated Harvey Skatepark project at Meriden Park on Monday, 2 October.

In 2021, the southeast corner of Meriden Park was chosen as the preferred location for Harvey Skatepark as it could feature within a precinct that has a number of active recreation programs.

Council subsequently awarded the contract for design and construction to Convic Pty Ltd.

Project scope:

  • New skatepark including pump track
  • Parks furniture
  • Path link to Uduc Road
  • Landscaping improvements
  • Drainage and earthworks
  • Traffic and public safety management

Temporary disruption may occur while works progress, however all efforts will be made to keep disturbance to a minimum.

The project has a $995,000 budget and is funded by the the Federal Government.

It is expected to be completed in January, 2024.
