The Shire welcomes three new and three returning members to Council following their success in the Local Government Elections 2023.
Robyn Coleman, John Bromham and Craig Carbone retained their positions on Council, while Alicia Hitchcock, Tiny Holly and James Junio were elected for the first time.
This year marks the first time the Shire President was chosen by the community since the introduction of local government reform, with Cr Michelle Campbell securing the position.
On Tuesday, 24 October 2023, at a Special Council meeting, the newly elected Councillors took their oaths of office. The Shire Council also voted in a new Deputy Shire President with Cr John Bromham taking on the role. The swearing-in ceremony was facilitated by former Councillor Amanda Lovitt JP.
The newly elected Councillors will join Councillors Michelle Boylan, Wendy Dickinson, Joe Capogreco and Dakota Krispyn in the Chambers.
We extend our warmest congratulations and welcome to both new and returning Councillors.
We also thank all the candidates who stepped forward to nominate for this important role.
