HRCC Celebrates 30 Years

HRCC Celebrates 30 Years
14 Aug 2023

The HRCC is turning 30 in September 2023.

The Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre (HRCC) is proud to be achieving an amazing milestone in September 2023.

Celebrating 30 years in Harvey, the HRCC has played an integral role in the local community as a one stop shop for all things sport, recreation and culture.

The HRCC will be hosting an array of fun activities and programs from Monday, 11 September to Saturday, 16 September 2023, inviting the community along to help celebrate.

Key activities include yoga classes, gymnastics for kids, pickleball, a disco party, 5km fun run and the HRCC Home Grown concert, all free to attend.

From humble beginnings, the HRCC has continued to grow and expand its offerings to the local community, with recent data showing that many families from outside the Shire of Harvey make the trek to the centre for its exceptional services and programs.

Over the years, the HRCC has doubled as an evacuation centre for families during bushfires, acted as a hub for the ever-popular 4-day Enduro event and has become a stand-out venue for world class productions and shows.

In 2021, the centre received acknowledgment for its high level cultural offerings after being awarded the WA Presenter of the Year Award by CircuitWest.

The HRCC has cemented itself as a key stop for high quality production tours, alongside big players in the entertainment industry, including Albany Entertainment Centre and Arts Narrogin.

With National Standard childcare programs, 24-hour gym and exceptional customer service, the HRCC really has something for everybody.

Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett congratulated staff at the HRCC for the fantastic achievement.

“Congratulations to David and the team at the HRCC for achieving 30 years in our community.”

“The centre plays a key role in our lives and creates a family friendly space for us all to come together and stay connected.”

“I cannot wait to see what the next 30 years brings,” Councillor Gillett said.
