The Shire has received final plans from the appointed landscape architect for landscaping and irrigation improvements at a number of selected locations in the Treendale area.
The plans include the implementation of waterwise gardens with native plants including a reduction in turfed areas.
Council allocated an additional $265,000 in the 2020-2021 financial year to undertake the landscaping improvements and funds will be carried forward to the 2021-2022 financial year.
A Request for Tender for the Treendale Landscaping Improvement works will be advertised in July with tenders closing on 24 August 2021. A report will be presented to Council on 28 September 2021 and the successful tenderer will be notified in early October.
All going well, the improvement works will start in October to November, with the intention to progressively improving the selected areas over the next 3 to 4 years.
Once the improvements have been implemented, the areas will continue to be maintained to the required standard.
